Yashobhoomi (IICC)
Specially crafted 3D folded GFRC panels across the facades and soffits of India International Convention and Expo Centre.

Overview
At Yashobhoomi, folded GFRC panels with a star-pattern perforation wrap the entrance volumes, soffits and walls, catching light differently through the day.
Each panel is a three-dimensional fold rather than a flat skin, so geometry, joints and perforation all had to line up across neighbouring pieces and around corners.

Project stages
1. Analysis
The folded surfaces were broken into a panel grid that keeps the star pattern continuous across joints, soffits and corners.
2. Design
Every panel type was modelled in 3D with its fold, perforation and fixings, so adjoining panels close cleanly in all directions.
3. Development
Molds were produced from the models, panels were cast and finished in white, and installation worked from the soffits outward on access platforms.
